Caterina Isaia

In October 2016 she won first prize at the “Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition, as well as a special award to perform with the “Zagreb Chamber Orchestra.

Giovanni Sollima

Born in October 2002, Caterina Isaia is currently persuing her Bachelor Degree at the “Hochschule für Musik Franz Listz” in Weimar with Professor Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt.
She started her studies with Marianne Chen and Monika Leskovar.
From 2017 until 2021 Caterina was a scholarship holder in London at the "Yehudi Menuhin School" with Bartholomew LaFollette and Matthijs Broersma.


In October 2016 she won first prize at the “Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition, as well as a special award to perform with the “Zagreb Chamber Orchestra. She also won first prizes at the "International Vychytil Cello Competition" (Prague) ,the "Rudolf Barshai International strings competition" (St. Petersburg), “E. Sollima International Music Competition” (Enna) and a special prize "Prix du Musee Bonnat-Helleu" at the Ravel Festival 2021.


Caterina has performed in various venues around Europe and abroad, such as Teatro La Fenice , Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Politeama of Palermo, Auditorium of Zaragoza, the Auditorium of the Superior Conservatory of Valencia, the Auditorium Pau Casals, the Juan March Foundation , The Menuhin Hall, Sala Piatti , Vienna Stadtpalais Liechtenstein, Theater Casino Zug, Montforthaus Feldkirch, Residenz Munich, Ljubljana Festival, Neues Schloss Stuttgart, Novinarski Dom Zagreb.

Caterina has been selected to take part in prestigious academies , such as the Gstaad Festival and Academy, Kronberg Academy Cello Masterclasses, Ravel Festival and Academy, Villecroze Academy and Liechtenstein Musikakademie. 
Recently Caterina has performed at the 2022 EXPO of Dubai at the Italy Pavillon
“ Violoncelle Vibrez” for two cellos, together with its composer Giovanni Sollima.

She recently made her debut with the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra on Croatian National Television , performing Bruch’s Kol Nidrei.
Since 2019, Caterina has been supported by the "Musica con le Ali Association" and since 2022 Caterina is a member of the "LGT Young Soloists".
